The mayor of Kamonyi district, Jacques Rutsinga has called on investors to invest in building hotels and accommodation facilities in Kamonyi district.
The call was made on July 4th 2013 during the press conference when journalists asked him why there are no hotels in his district.
This comes after some modern buildings are built in Kamonyi town but none of them is a hotel or lodging facility.
The mayor revealed that investors must have waited to build hotels in fear of small client base and wait for the right time.
People who visit Kamonyi district say that the fact that it borders with Kigali city makes it a nice place to visit during weekends.
However, there are no modern hotels and bars for such people to entertain themselves from.
The mayor assures investors that in 2013-2014 financial year, the district will build a guest house at at Ijuru-Kamonyi and at a historical site where King Yuhi Mazimpaka lived.
