m_How to make pineapple-beetroot juice at home

A year ago, I visited some family where I got to taste pineapple-beetroot juice. In love with the juice colour, I asked where I can get it from only to be told they prepare it.Since that time, pineapple-beetroot juice has become a household item more than anything else, children love it lots.

Consuming fruits and vegetables of all kinds has long been associated with a reduced risk of many lifestyle-related health conditions. Many studies have suggested that increasing consumption of plant foods like beetroot decreases the risk of obesity and overall mortality, diabetes, heart disease and promotes a healthy complexion and hair, increased energy, overall lower weight.

Pineapples too are high in Vitamin C which prevents cancer, heal wounds and injuries to the body quickly, prevents constipation and diarrhea among others.

Requirements

  • Sharp knife
  • 1 ripe pineapple
  • 2 big beetroots
  • Sugar
  • Pan

How to

  • Wash clean before peeling the pineapple and beetroot
  • Cut them into smaller pieces and put them in the pan
  • Add water and bring to boil
  • Add sugar while boiling or after the juice cools down (optional)
  • After boiling for like 20 minutes, bring the mixture down and let it cool

Alternatively, you can eat the pineapple and use the peels. In this case, you need to clean the pineapple thoroughly. Cut the peels into small pieces and mix with beetroot.

The quantity of the beetroot will determine the colour of the juice. If you put little water, it becomes darker while it looks light upon using much water.

You can add other fruits such as passion fruits, oranges, mangoes but have in mind that your juice might have some sourness when you drink.

Good luck!
