Rwanda’s largest property Serena Hotels has announced plans to offer Lake Kivu Serena package to Transform Africa Delegates slated for 19- 20 October 2015.
Serena Hotels in Kigali is offering an all-round tourism package for the conference visitors by giving shuttle services to and from the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel after concluding the meeting, where the tourists will have the chance to enjoy the amazing sceneries of the Lake Kivu beach in Gisenyi, Western Province.
Visitors will have a chance to cool off from their busy days’ schedules from the conference with a travel offer to the Lake Kivu Serena Hotel, according to Charles Muia, the Serena Hotels Country Manager.
The hotel visitors to get a complete feel of the country during the three-day event which will be the second edition after the inaugural meet in 2013, in Kigali.
“Tourists will make reservations for the shuttle services to Lake Kivu Serena from our Kigali Serena Hotel front desk and be ready to travel to and from Lake Kivu Serena,” he explained.
Muia is optimistic that the event will further boost Rwanda’s tourism and hospitality sector especially now that they were offering visitors more than conference tourism packages.
“Rwanda presents a big potential for all kinds of tourism and said they were working to see they package tourism products to the suitability of tourists,” said Muia.
The number of business travelers who visited Rwanda increased by 24 percent, with the government attributing the development to the new strategy which focus on business travelers as supplement to those that come to the country for leisure.
The two major events that boosted the figures last year include the African Development Bank annual general meetings and the World Export Development Forum.
Ambassador Yamina Karitanyi, Head of Tourism and Conservation at the RDB said that last year, RDB launched the Meetings, Incentives Conferences and Events (Mice) as a way to promote diversify in the tourism sector and they have started to register the results.
