Serena Hotels received a World Tourism Award for being the leading hotel in Rwanda during World Travel Awards Africa and Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony in Seychelles.
Held on June 22, 2015 the ceremony attracted travel professionals from all over the world who converged for the “Oscars of the travel industry”.
Other group’s chain of hotels that embodied these gains include Nairobi Serena Hotel, in Kenya as Africa’s Leading Green Hotel and Kenya’s Leading Hotel, while Kampala Serena Hotel as Uganda’s Leading Hotel as well as Lake Victoria Serena Resort and Spa as Uganda’s Leading Hotel Suite.
The World Travel Award 2015 gala night saw Kigali Serena Hotel become the third Serena city hotel to bag an award as the leading hotel in Rwanda, making it four years in a row for the Hotel despite rising competition as new hotels are set up in Rwanda.
Speaking of the Serena Groups’ glittering array of prestigious awards, Mr. Mahmud Janmohamed, Managing Director, Serena Hotels Africa said the recognition for excellence is indeed an honor in itself.
“These awards confirm that our strategy to invest on an ongoing basis, in both our hardware-the physical product and our software-our human resources continue to pay dividends,” Mahmud said.
He thanked all travel professionals who recognized the hotel and attributed the achievement to the staff’s effort.

The “Oscars of the travel industry”, event is universally perceived as the ultimate global travel accolade while the World Travel Awards was established to acknowledge, celebrate and reward excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
